This solution will offer the same features as the standard Gryphon GM4010 Base Station, plus it will provide a simple solution to verify authenticity of bank notes and ID documents, as well as the ability to detect a variety of key identifiers on any currency or document.
The BC4010 Gryphon Base Station is available with a UV Counterfeit Detector, typically used to verify the authenticity of bank notes. Other uses for the counterfeit detection include verifications on passports, travel tickets, credit cards, travelers checks, event tickets and similar applications where it is possible to detect fluorescent marks using a UV light.
The BC4010 Counterfeit Detector has the ability to detect a variety of key identifiers on any currency and document. It is based on UV fluorescent emission and contains eight special UV LEDs. Authentic bank notes, under ultraviolet rays, usually reflect the UV light and will show special markings made visible with fluorescent inks. Most counterfeit bank notes will absorb the UV lights without showing the fluorescent marks.
Using this feature is very simple: a button located on the base station turns on the UV LEDs. Operators should then hold the item to be verified under the LED lights to ensure that the special fluorescent marks becomes visible. The LEDs are set to switch off automatically after approximately 2 minutes. By pressing the button a second time within 10 seconds will keep the UV LEDs lit for an indefinite period of time. To turn them off, simply press the button again.
